Any student who uses a computer on campus knows what a pain the internet can be. The campus internet is usually extremely slow or it doesn't work at all, especially in the residence halls during the afternoon.

That is all about to change with the installation of the new Charter Pipeline System. The installation should be finished by the end of October or the beginning of November. The installation of the system will cost $6,000. After the initial installation, it will cost approximately $5,500 per month to keep the system up and running.

Currently North Greenville University is running on three different internet vendors. The Charter Pipeline System will consolidate NGU's internet vendors into just one vendor. The system will also increase the internet bandwidth, which will increase the speed.

"The Fairview extension of the Walter T. Brashier Graduate School will be linked to the main campus's network," said Paul Garrett, director of Academic planning and assessment, "offering graduate students the same opportunities as other NGU students."

"Technological improvements at NGU will be a big help for research projects," said Robin Rudd, senior Christian studies.
