The college store will begin buying used student books Thursday, Dec. 1 at 9 a.m. The store will be buying back books throughout exams; however, books will not be bought while the store is open on Saturday.
The school will give up to half of the purchase price for books that can be reused by professors. Books that are not being reused at the university will still be bought, but by an outside buyer, Follet, who uses their own price guide. In addition, Follet is partnering with the college store to sponsor a book smart giveaway. Prizes for the giveaway range from Scandisc USB storage devices to clothing discounts, free soft drinks and candy.
The store will buy books from 9 a.m. to 12 noon and 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 1; 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 2; and 9 a.m. to 12 noon and 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on both Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 5 and 6.
Students will be given cash only for their books, unless the student owes money towards their school account, in which case the money will be applied toward the delinquent account.
The bookstore is also hosting a Christmas sale, which began Monday, Nov. 28, featuring 25 percent off all clothing.
