Cable channel Animal Planet recently purchased original music by Angela Easterling, daughter of Mayson Easterling, Executive Director of Denominational Relations to use in a new show about young girls competing on jumping horses.

Angela is an actress and singer/songwriter living in Los Angeles, Calif. Animal Planet recently purchased rights to three of her songs to play on their new show Horse Power.

In the mix of trying to make it in Hollywood, Angela was fortunate to have her songs purchased and played by Animal Planet. The mini series Horse Power premiered at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 1. The show is about America's top teenage riders competing to be the best in show jumping. Angela's songs are played during the scenes of a young, new rider who is trying to make it in the world of junior show jumping, said Mayson. The three songs to premiere in last week's episode were "Toy," "Eyes of a Fool" and "Beloved."

"It was interesting to see her name in the end credits by original music," said Mayson Easterling.

"When she left the south to go to Emerson College in Boston, her goal was to be separated form the south and anything country. So I always thought it was funny that she lives in LA and writes and sings country music," said Easterling.

Angela's band plays almost every night and she has had small parts on television and in movies such as Raise Your Voice staring Hillary Duff. She is involved in an organization called Star Light, Star Bright that allows celebrities to perform and entertain sick children in local hospitals with children's songs.

She is currently working on her first full 12-song album, and is a member of ASCAP-American Society of Composers and Producers.
