Lady Crusaders split week 1-1 with home win, tough loss on road

The Lady Crusaders had a busy week last week beginning in Jefferson City, Tenn. Monday, Jan. 30 when North Greenville traveled to take on Carson-Newman University in a game that proved rough for the Crusaders.
The Eagles forced 30 turnovers, amounting to 32 points for Carson-Newman and only 12 for the Crusaders. The Eagles also outscored the Crusaders 22-7 on fast breaks.
North Greenville's Audrey Toscano, sophomore undecided, was the lead scorer with 20 points for the Crusaders. North Greenville held the lead by 7 points early in the game but soon fell to the Eagle's defense.
Caron-Newman walked away with the win over North Greenville holding the final score of 83-59. The win improved the Eagles to a 13-7 season and knocked the Crusaders back to 11-9.
Saturday, Feb. 4 brought about a change of luck for the Crusaders as they took on Morris College at home in what proved to be an exciting game. Amanda Milner, sophomore psychology, was the lead scorer for North Greenville at the game with 18 points. Milner was closely followed by Amber Rector, senior business, and Toscano, with 17 and 10 points. The Lady Crusaders went to the locker room at the half leading 43-25.
The second half proved to be just as spectacular for the Lady Crusaders as they maintained a 20-point lead the rest of the game. North Greenville beat Morris with a final score of 89-48, improving the Crusader's season to 12-9.
