Brittany Fogg, junior biology from Spartanburg, was killed in automobile accident last Tuesday. The accident occurred around 5 p.m. at the intersection of N. Tigerville Road and S.C. Highway 11.

Fogg's car was struck in the driver's side door after she pulled out in front of an oncoming car on S.C. Highway 11.

"The sun is really harsh around that time of day," said Dr. Steve Crouse, Campus Minister, "she didn't see the car coming."

"The coroner said she most likely died on impact," said Crouse, "but she was taken to Greenville Memorial, where we met with her parents."

"She had plans to go to the mission field, her parents shared that with me at the hospital," said Crouse.

"She had a real heart for missions," said Carlie Wright,
sophomore early education, "that was a real passion of hers."
"We talked the other day about how she wanted to move to a Spanish speaking country and be a missionary there. She really had a heart for the lost that was really something that was evident in her life," said Wright.

Wright and other friends recounted fond memories of Fogg amongst tears of grief and laughter.

"She was always happy," said Morgan Williams, sophomore biology.

"We were making oatmeal chocolate chip cookies for [Amanda] Perkins' going away party in the [Howard] apartment and none of us knew what we were doing," said Williams. " So we were sitting there waiting for them to bake, we were all so thirsty and we were in the apartment and no one had any cups so we put milk in the measuring cups and acted like we were taking shots."

"The good Lord wanted Brittany more than we," said Dr. Jimmy Epting, North Greenville University president. "It his gain and Brittany's gain, and our loss."

"God is sovereign but we are responsible for our actions so we need to be careful about what we do and when we do it," Epting said.

Billy Watson, director of Student Services, is compiling thoughts and memories of Brittany from faculty and students for her parents.

"Many of you have expressed kind words about Brittany Fogg. I am sure that her parents would like to hear those same words. If you would like to e-mail me with your thoughts, stories or prayers I will make sure they are passed on to her family," said Watson in a campus wide e-mail.

Fogg's funeral was Friday, Feb. 17 at First Baptist Church Spartanburg. The visitation was held from 2 p.m. to 3:45 p.m., and the funeral followed at 4 p.m.
