After an entertaining year of games at North Greenville and a few away, the Lady Crusaders traveled to Oakland City, Ind. to put everything they worked for and practiced this season to use. The ladies lost their first two games during the tournament.

"After losing two games I had to make up my mind that I didn't ride on the bus for 10 hours and lose my spring break to get embarrassed like we did," Robin Warner, sophomore marketing, said about the Crusader's first two losses. "I believe that most of my teammates had the same idea and as a result of it, we came home with the win."
Both players were in agreement that had North Greenville gone onto the court less anxious and played a stronger defense, the results of the first two games could have been different.

With the opportunity of winning their last game against Oklahoma Wesleyan so close within their reach, the Crusaders decided to "play more intense defense and shoot better percentage shots," said Allison Robinson, junior marketing. Robinson also commented that with great defense, "everything else will take its place."

Amanda Milner, sophomore psychology, played an amazing final game, leading the Crusaders with 17 points and five blocked shots. Audrey Toscano, sophomore undecided, and Amber Rector were also top scorers for the evening with 12 and 11 points each.

Toscano also had 7 assists during the game, living up to one of her own teammate's definitions of a great team player.
"We know how to have fun on and off the court; we had so many memorable moments … another thing that was good about our team is that we aren't selfish. We had some career nights in assists. I think that it is easy to create a shot for yourself, but when you can create a shot for someone else, then, you are a great team player," said Warner.

North Greenville managed to put their fears aside and put everything they had out on the court for their final game. The efforts, determination, and teamwork helped them walk away with the win over Oklahoma Wesleyan 73-70 and a seventh place finish at the National Christian College Athletic Association National Tournament, leaving the Crusader's with a 19-13 season.

"I am looking forward to going to Nationals again and winning this time. I think that we have a good chance because the nerves will be gone and we can show them how the Lady Crusader's really play," said Warner.
