Over 50 students traveled on choir tour Friday, March 31 through Wednesday, April 5. The choir went to western South Carolina, and various other parts of the state to perform, including Walhalla, Greenwood, Abbeville, North Augusta, Barnwell, Beaufort and Union.
"I really enjoyed performing in Beaufort because we were able to spend time at the beach," said Emilie Bartholomew, freshman music education.
Part of being enrolled in choir requires students to go on tour. Dr. Barry Combs, director of Choral Activities, wanted churches within the state to learn about the music program offered by North Greenville University.
"I enjoyed being able to spread out information about North Greenville University," said Bethany Settlemyer, freshman early childhood.
"I had fun getting to know everybody and feel I am now friends with everyone," said Setnick Sene, senior broadcast media.
The tour was successful as the choir performed well and were gladly received by the churches.
"The best part was talking with church members after concerts and hearing them say how much they appreciated the variety of music we offered," said Combs. "Church members felt our students were good representatives of NGU."
"The students are a fun loving bunch, who love to have a good time, and love to make beautiful music together," said Combs.
