A growing program in the Mass Communication departments is radio broadcasting. The school's radio station, WNGR 95.5 The Vibe, has a total of 15 radio shows this semester, many of them brand new.

Braden Hall, sophomore interdisciplinary studies, and Stephen Palacino, sophomore interdisciplinary studies, now host a new show called, In Focus. This is a political show that will help students understand the controversial political topics, especially with the elections coming up.

Some other new shows are the Top 10 Christian Rock Countdown, The Edge (rock music) and Old School (music from the 60's-90's).

The Vibe's station manager, David Sons, junior broadcast media; program director, Gloria Hiatt, junior broadcast media; and music director, David Watkins, sophomore broadcast media, are the three main students in charge of getting shows together to put out on the air. Each show has at least one host, who had to go through a process of shadowing, interning and passing a FCC regulated test to be allowed to get on air here at North Greenville.

"I am really excited about the new shows, especially In Focus, because I really think that is going to be a great way for the students to learn more about what is going on with politics. I am partial to the Christian Rock Countdown, too," said Hiatt.

The Vibe works to make these shows interesting and appealing to their target audience, high school and especially college students. Last semester they hosted from Chick-fil-A, and this semester they are really looking into broadcasting from a youth rally and hopefully a concert.
