Emma is a very enchanting movie. The film was derived from the novel with the same title written by Jane Austen. Emma Woodhouse (Gwyneth Paltrow, Shakespeare In Love) is doing her best to be a lucrative matchmaker using her friends as guinea pigs. Though she was successful at matching one of her closest friends, she is unsuccessful in doing so with another friend, Ms. Smith. After several attempts Emma fails to match Ms. Smith with anyone, and finally realizes how terrible she actually is at the task. However, Emma manages to end up in a perfect match with her closest male friend, Mr. Knightley (Brian Capron) and end all other attempts of matching making anyone else.
Even though Emma was released in 1996, it is still a movie that gives audiences a perception of true romance, along with great comedy. It falls into the category with Pride and Prejudice, another great film derived from a novel by Jane Austen, and both are available on DVD.
Emma is rated PG for brief mild language.
