In the mood of Valentine's Day, we all need those movies to show our sweethearts. This one is for guys. I choose the new Pride and Prejudice because it is one of those movies you can show your lady friend and actually enjoy.

The movie is based on the novel by Jane Austin and is about five sisters and their pursuit of love and marriage. Their lives are turned upside down when two men show up as their neighbors for a short time.

Joe Wright, the director, does an amazing job of molding lights, cinematography and acting to truly show the beauty of the story line in Pride and Prejudice.

Pride and Prejudice has an amazing cast that makes you fall in love with the movie's characters. Kiera Knightly as Elizabeth Bennet does an amazing job being a "Miss Independent" daddy's girl. She allows you to both love her and hate her. The one who just blew me away was Matthew MacFadyen. He is perfect for the role of Mr. Darcy.

The acting is not what really makes this movie, but the directing. How Wright interprets the screenplay into film is amazing. He is simple in the way he approaches his visual effects. He really lets nature do its thing. His direction shows that Hollywood does not always have to be big and flashy, but simple and elegant.

Guys, Pride and Prejudice is one movie that your lady friend will enjoy and one you can stand.

Girls, you have it a little harder trying to find that perfect movie for your guy friend with a good part action and a little bit of romance. So, I went with a classic that I hope works, Robin Hood.

Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves is based in the time of the crusades. A man escapes from jail and returns to his home in England. He arrives to find his father has been murdered. Robin Hood (Kevin Costner) seeks revenge to honor his father's meomry. He decides to join outlawed woodsmen and leads the woodsmen to rise up against the tyranny Sherwood.

Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves is a great classic. It's an action packed movie with good morals and well-placed romance. With no spectacular special effects Robin Hood captures you with wit and simple fight sequences.

The producer chose director Kevin Reynolds when he walked on their doorstep bringing Costner right with him. Reynolds, director of Count of Monte Cristo, did an amazing job picking a strong cast and crew to revamp the typical idea of the medieval movie.

The thing that really makes this movie is that it is a wonderful piece of history. It makes men remember those childhood days were they wish they could be knights and makes the ladies wish the could be swept off their feet by a handsome knight.

Girls, it's got a good balance of action and romance that will make it enjoyable for you and your sweet heart.
