The Crusader golf team has already been hitting the greens despite the cold weather. The spring season kicks off with a tournament Feb. 19 and 20 at Musgrove Mills Golf Course against Presbyterian College.
The team for the spring semester consists of Justin Bentley, senior marketing; Blake Hoover, junior sport management; Bo Ream, senior sport management; Cole West, senior business administration; Kevin Yancar, senior business administration; Brian McCall, senior accounting; Colby Price, sophomore psychology; Brad Caldwell, freshman sport management; Brandon Coggins, freshman elementary education; and Nathan Irvin, freshman broadcast media.
The strong senior leadership plays a big part for the team. Freshmen Caldwell, Coggins and Irvin have been a vital part to the team in their games' consistency. Caldwell finished in the top 15 and Coggins has played in three tournaments.
"We are trying to make it to the NCAA regionals," said Hoover. "We made it back in spring of 2005 and would like to be apart of the tournament again. At practice, we put a lot of time and effort into our short game."
The Crusader golf team looks forward to a hopeful spring semester with their hard work, strong senior leadership and dedication.
