The men's tennis team ended the week with two NCCAA victories and one loss.
NGU beat Mars Hill College 5-4 at home on Tuesday, Feb. 20. The Crusaders took four singles matches and one doubles match. Juan Carlos Aguilera, freshman economics, secured NGU's victory by winning the deciding match and breaking the tie with a 6-4 lead.
"The team we played today is really good," said Jacob Rogers, sophomore Christian studies. "We played them tight and had to struggle to win."
Wingate University was the second team to fall to NGU last week. The Crusaders gained a 7-2 victory at the Wingate University tennis facility Thursday, Feb. 22.
The Crusaders winning streak was brought to a halt by an 8-1 loss to the University of North Alabama on Friday, Feb. 23.
"Our men's team is very talented. However, talent has never won a tennis match," said Mark Elliot, tennis head coach. "If this team can continue to work hard and learn what it takes to win, we will be able to come together and have a successful season. We are a young team with a tough schedule, and have a lot to learn. I am, however, optimistic about our up coming season."
