Softball team picks up first win of season

On Thursday, Feb. 22, the North Greenville Lady Crusaders split a doubleheader at Limestone College. The Crusaders picked up their first win of the season in the first game by a score of 7-5. Limestone won the second game 3-0.
In game one the Crusaders lead 4-1 in the first inning, scoring another run in the third. However, Limestone tied the game 5-5 in the seventh inning. Bridget Watson, sophomore business administration, hit a single which drove in two go-ahead runs in the eighth to give the Lady Crusaders the victory. Ashley Warlick, sophomore undecided, pitched this game and led NGU to the 7-5 win.
In game two a shutout was pitched by Limestone and the Saints took the victory 3-0.
On Saturday, Feb. 24, the women hit the mound at 1 p.m. against Mars Hill College. Mars Hill swept the Lady Crusaders 11-0 in game one 11-0 and 3-0 in game two.
In game one the ladies picked up two hits by Lindsey Eargle, sophomore sport management, and Amanda McElveen, sophomore elementary education.
Improving in the second game, the score was 3-0 taken by Mars Hill College.
The Lady Crusaders are at 1-13 record for the season and will have a game today at St. Andrews Presbyterian.
