With winter being an almost distant memory, spring and summer are here to stay. With that comes the need to shed layers. Layers of clothes turn into sleeveless shirts, boots become flip flops, and long jeans become shorts and skirts. Not to mention the need to shed those extra locks of hair that may have grown over the winter to keep out the cold. Need a cheap, local place to chop off the excess hair? Check out these great places nearby.
Haircuttery has many different locations around the Greenville area. The company not only offers haircuts but also coloring and facial waxing, as well as texturizing. A simple cut and dry is around $15 and for your hair to be styled it is under $20. Customers are constantly pleased with the service they receive while at Haircuttery. Keeping up with technology, Haircuttery has also starting providing a reminder service for those who are too busy to keep up with a hair schedule. Go online to their website, haircuttery.com and click on reminder and the site will send you a reminder via e-mail. Check out the closets Haircuttery franchises off of Wade Hampton Boulevard in Taylors and Old Buncombe Road in Greenville.
Great Clips is another great hair salon that has based their business on customers getting exactly what they want upon walking in the door. Great Clips is all about the hair such as, haircuts, perms, styling, bang and beard trims. For a plain cut and nothing else the price is $11 and a lot of times the company has a variety of sales. For a full scale cut, blow dry and style the cost is under $20.
"I love the service I receive at Great Clips, they always know what they are doing and the right style for me," said Jessica Boulware, sophomore business administration.
Great Clips newest nearby location is in front of Wal-Mart in Travelers Rest and another close location is off of Wade Hampton in Greer.
Not a lot of cash and feeling brave? Let someone on campus do it. There are more than a few students here at North Greenville who would be happy to cut and style it for next to nothing. Girls on campus cut hair all the time from bangs to a short trim or even a totally new style. The same goes with guys as most of them have the equipment to shave heads and do a great job.
Not up for cutting those beautiful locks but still want a change? Try coloring the hair, it gives any old hairstyle a new look. Go to any local drug store or Wal-Mart and there are more than enough different kits for one to do by themselves. A person can choose from almost any color in the rainbow from blonde to hot pink. There are streaking kits, multi colored kits for more than one color and just your basic hair dye. Don't want to make a permanent change? Sally's Beauty Supply in Greer offers that will wash out of the hair in six to eight washes. Be cautious of the L'Oreal so called 'non-permanent' hair color, more times than not it ends up becoming permanent.
Feeling a bit uneasy about using coloring the hair alone? Get it professionally done and the cost, depending upon what a person wants, varies from $40 to $100. Try the JC Penny salon at the Haywood Mall or Uniquely Different Hair Salon off of Washington Street in Greenville.
So color some fun into the hair for a change, or trade in that winter mullet for a new Spring look.
