On Wednesday, March 28, the Lady Crusaders were swept in a doubleheader by Pfeiffer College.

In game one, Pfeiffer scored five of their eight runs in the first inning. Stephanie Bethea and Martina Bullard had singles, following them were Dacia Ijames, and Jaimee Cassidy who each had triples to start the inning. Sarah Moore and Stephanie Brandt had an RBI also in the first. Ijames pitched a shutout, winning the game 8-0.

In game two, the Lady Crusaders were ready to rally back and scored first, but in the bottom of the inning the Falcons took a 2-1 lead. North Greenville tied the game in the sixth when Kristin Brewer, freshman sport management, hit an RBI triple. In the top of the eighth, the Crusaders took the lead 5-2.

However, Pfeiffer came out hitting in the bottom of the eighth and scored four runs. Moore had a double that scored two runs, and Brittany Lewis hit a single to score a run that tied the game. One more run was all the Falcons needed for the win, and Stephanie Brandt hit a single that drove in Lewis for the 6-5 win.

The Lady Crusaders were set to play Anderson University on Friday March 28, but the game was cancelled. Anderson had to make up a conference game on that day, and the game will not be rescheduled.

Catch NGU softball this week on Thursday, at Milligan College at 2 p.m. NGU will be back at home on Saturday, March 7, playing USC-Upstate at home at 1 p.m.
