Have you ever had a game or a song that brings back memories of a better time, something that brings nostalgic feelings? Well, there's a game in particular that takes me to a time when I didn't know the meaning of the words fanboy and n00b. Back when a game was simply just that: a game. That game is Warcraft III.
Anyone who is a fan of computer "Real-time Strategy" games will tell you that this installment of the Warcraft saga is the best. The interface is very easy to work with and is very easy to get used to if you've never played a RTS before. It also adapts to your favorite playing scheme if you're a seasoned RTS player.
Now I know many of you are probably wondering, "Why would I want to play this RTS game? Most of them have no storyline whatsoever and have a complete lack of redeeming characters." Well, that is the main reason to play this game. It has a wonderful storyline that is as interesting as it is original, and you can actually follow what is going on! Isn't it amazing? Yes! No more need for you to call up your fantasy-nerd friend to find out just what is going on and why you're slaughtering innocent orcs.
And with the level of difficulty that it has, no longer will you be looking up cheat codes to beat the first level of the first campaign. It is easy enough for beginners to jump directly into it and build up their skills, and hard enough for the seasoned player to keep his skills at their full potential.
And if it's not hard enough for your level of ownage, then you can go online and test your skills against other players on Warcraft online.
The one flaw that this game has is the graphics. They were just short of awesome even at the time the game came out.
The graphics for Age of Mythology were better. The music was pretty good though, and the voice acting was really good. This game has some really good qualities, but the fact that the graphics weren't anything we hadn't seen before really takes its toll on the overall rating. I give it 7 out of 10.
