The Greenville Little Theatre will once again host a production featuring a North Greenville student. Liz Floto, senior theater, will be one of four soprano ensemble members for Hello Dolly by Jerry Herman and Michael Stewart.

Hello Dolly "is the cheerful and charming musical comedy that's alive with personality, shining with loving humorous scenes, and brimming with irresistibly happy and tuneful songs," according to www.greenvillelittletheatre.com.

Floto wanted to do this play because it's a musical. "I like the level of difficulty of singing, dancing, and acting at the same time," she said.

This week's rehearsal will be learning choreography. "[Last week] we ran the songs over and over," said Floto.

Floto said the audition process was nerve-racking. She waited around for her number to be called, and once it was, she went into a room and sung a prepared song for the casting team.

"Everyone waited around and were put into groups," said Floto. "We were taught about sixteen measures of choreography and did that in front of the [casting team], too."
The next few days were callbacks and more auditions. She went back and auditioned for a part but was given an ensemble member.
"I don't really mind the part I got at all," said Floto.

She found out about the audition through her internship for the Greenville Little Theater.

"I had my internship there last semester," said Floto, "so I knew the schedule [for auditions and plays]."

Floto is not the only NGU student to have an internship there; several theatre students are working with the stage crew to help with the performance.

The play is scheduled to debut on June 8 and run through June 30. Check out www.greenvillelittletheatre.com for show times.
