Crusaders drop baseball series to Erskine College
North Greenville team wins one out of three in series against Erskine College April 13-14

Out of a three-game series with Erskine College on Friday, April 13 and Saturday, April 14 North Greenville University walked away with only one win. The Crusaders snatched the opening game 9-8 only to lose the second game 9-4. Erskine got the victory on Saturday 13-7.
In game one on Friday, Rick Broadway, senior sport management, hit a two-run home run in the fifth inning. The Crusaders then scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh taking the game from the Fleet. Dylan Davidson, senior sport management, singled in Chris Tate, senior mathematics, along with Matt Britt, senior sport management. Cory Hinton, sophomore business administration, then singled in Davidson to secure the win for NGU.
Pitcher Tommy Okano, senior sport management, got the win for North Greenville. Davidson led the Crusaders batting 3-for-4 with three RBIs. Britt scored three times on a 2-for-3 day, and Kyle Baron, senior history, batted 2-for-4 with a single RBI and one run scored.
Brett Hamilton, senior mathematics, took the loss for NGU in game two on Friday. Mike Reis, senior Christian studies, and Broadway each finished with two hits for the Crusaders.
On Saturday, Erskine took the lead early in the first inning going 4-0, and made it 10-0 before the Crusaders had the chance to get on the scoreboard in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Pitcher Davidson took the loss for North Greenville. Britt led NGU with a 3-for-4 day, while Reis went 2-for-3 with two RBIs, and Curt Marshall, junior elementary education, hit a home run. The Crusaders' record falls 16-31 on the season.
The North Greenville University Crusaders' baseball team will return to action tonight at 6:30 p.m. as they travel to USC-Aiken.
