Softball ends season at NCCAA Regional, season record comes to 9-35

On Friday, April 13, the Lady Crusaders traveled to Emmanuel College for the beginning of the NCCAA Regional Tournament. The first game for the Crusaders was against Palm Beach Atlantic.

Amanda McElveen, sophomore elementary education, and Christina Shin, freshman business administration, both had hits for the Crusaders, and Hope Brewer, freshman sport management, had an RBI. NGU was winning 2-1 after going into the second inning.

The game then tied in the sixth 2-2. In the eighth Palm Beach scored two runs, one that was off of an error to win the game 4-2.
Early Saturday morning, April 14, the season ended for the Lady Crusaders. NCCAA South Regional Tournament host Emmanuel College took the win over the Crusaders 5-2.

NGU had a 2-0 lead in the beginning thanks to a hit by Allison Bailey, freshman undecided, who brought in Brewer and Lindsey Eargle, sophomore sport management.
Emmanuel quickly tied up the game in the bottom of the first, and scored three more runs in the third, leading the team to win the game 5-2.

Previously on Monday, April 9, the Lady Crusaders lost both games to Presbyterian College on their field.

In game one, Laura Tate for PC had three hits and two RBIs. The Blue Hose scored five runs in the first inning, and also batted around. PC scored almost every inning winning the game 11-6.

For the Crusaders, Tia LaFreniere, freshman sport management, had a home run, and gained two RBIs. NGU pitcher took her first lost for the season.

In game two, PC started the first inning off with three runs. Ashley Warlick, sophomore undecided, was the pitcher for NGU and gave up six runs. PC won with a score of 8-3.

These games and the NCCAA South Regional Tournament led the Lady Crusaders to finish the season 9-35.
