The intramural Ultimate Frisbee season is in full swing, and the competition is getting intense.
The Scrubs and the Dirty Pirates led the league as of last Thursday with a victory each. The B Team and Easy Street each have a 1-1 record, and the Unrecruitables are 0-2.
"The Scrubs or B team have a good chance of winning everything," intramural director Donald Lilly said. "Easy Street has a shot, but they have to play better."
Last Monday, the Dirty Pirates nipped the Unrecruitables 7-6. On Wednesday, Easy Street topped B Team 7-4.
B Team faced the Dirty Pirates on Monday, and the Scrubs will take on the Unrecruitables this afternoon.
Next week, the Dirty Pirates and the Scrubs, the top two teams in the league, will face off on Monday, and the Unrecruitables will challenge Easy Street on Wednesday.
The top four teams in the league will move on to the playoffs, so each team is battling to stay out of last place.
The playoffs begin on Feb. 25, with the first and fourth seeds and the second and third seeds playing each other in the first round.
The Scrubs are looking to return to the championship game, and B Team, the remains of last year's champions Pink Panthers, are also looking to lift the trophy at the end of the year.
The Dirty Pirates and the Unrecruitables, the new teams in the league, are trying to make a strong first impression, and Easy Street is always dangerous when they step on the field.
Fans can expect an exciting end to the season, and an intense run to the championship.
