North Greenville University's Baptist Student Union has begun Extension, a get-together after Fusion once a month that serves as a place where students can make new friends and fellowship with old ones.

"Our purpose for Extension is to serve our students and encourage them to serve others, on and off campus," said Leah Roper, senior intercultural studies.

Similar to BSU's former Church Hero meetings, Extension is a fun and free way to hang out with fellow students after Fusion.

In order to put more planning and effort into each meeting, BSU has decided to only host the nights once a month.

Extension has had three meetings, including a movie night with Casablanca and free popcorn and another had a Starbucks theme.

"It's a part of our hospitality chair to minister to the students by showing hospitality like it says we should in Romans 12:13. It's our way to show love to the students and serve them," said Meg Kiel, junior major.

Future plans for Fusion and Extension include the possibility of some community service work next year.

"It's a great place to build relationships and become a community in more of a way that you can do in Fusion," Kiel said.

Due to the Spring Break recess, there will not be an Extension meeting in March.

The next meeting will be April 13 directly after Fusion.
