It will be dropping soon. The temperature of your spring fever, that is.

Mark your calendar for these upcoming events in downtown Greenville. They are sure to help ease the healing process.

The Greenville Drive
You might want to practice your seventh-inning stretch and work on the Chicken Dance. Spring is here, and that means baseball. Located in the West End, Greenville's miniature "Green Monster," known as Fluor Field, is home to the Greenville Drive, a South Atlantic League team.

The Greenville Drive, a Boston Red Sox affiliate, will take on the Kannapolis Intimidators for the teams' season opener this Thursday at 7 p.m. The Intimidators are affiliated with the Chicago White Sox.

Tickets are available at the box office, by phone or at www.greenvilledrive.com.

Artisphere
Downtown's Falls Park district will be abuzz with paintings, pottery and plays the weekend of April 18-20. Visual and performing artists from across the country will gather to celebrate and promote art in this area.

New to the 2008 festival is the outdoor "Artist Row," where 100 artists will be showcasing and selling their ceramics, metal art, photography, jewelry, sculptures and even furniture. "Gallery Row," which consists of the art galleries on Main Street and in West End, provides another opportunity to view and purchase works from local artists.

The spotlight for performing arts will be on several of downtown's stages, including the DOW Ampitheatre, located behind the Peace Center. At the "Bi-Lo Blues Café," which will be on Main between Camperdown Way and Augusta Street, some of the region's best blues artists will play alongside local chefs, providing at least two of your senses with plenty to enjoy.

Artisphere begins Friday afternoon, April 18, and continues through the weekend, ending at 6 p.m., April 20. All outdoor events are free, but some of the indoor performances require a ticket purchase.

Visit www.artisphere.us for performance schedules and additional information.
