The women's tennis team has heated up after a 1-4 start, winning 3 out of their last 4 matches to even their record at 4-4.
NGU went into March 17's match against Mars Hill College hoping to bounce back after a disappointing 8-1 loss to Lander University. They defeated Mars Hill College 5-4 improving their record to 3-4 and dropping the Lions to 3-8.
The next game for the Crusaders was March 20 against the winless Barton Bulldogs. Barton gave the Crusaders all they could handle, but in the end it wasn't enough as the Lady Crusaders won their second straight match 5-4.
The women's team's next match will be Friday against Piedmont College at 3 p.m.
The men's team hoped to end a 3-match skid against Mars Hill. Unfortunately, the ball didn't bounce the Crusaders way and they fell to Mars Hill 7-2.
NGU then played March 17 against Limestone with more of the same for the Crusaders as they could not get it together and lost 7-2.
The third match of the week was against Barton on March 20. Their losing streak hit six games as they fell 6-3.
The men's tennis team had turned into a dynasty after winning six consecutive NCCAA national championships, but the men's program has stumbled to an early season record of 1-7. The Crusaders only have seven regular season games left, and the best they can finish is 8-7.
The men's squad will travel Saturday to Lincoln Memorial University for a match at 1 p.m.
