Payable On Death, one of the longest running alternative rock bands, is about to unleash their eleventh studio release. When Angels and Serpents Dance released on April 8 with a lot of anticipation behind it.
P.O.D., as they are affectionately called, are in the 15th year of their expansive career. The members of Payable On Death are the same as the days of The Fundamental Elements of Southtown and Satellite. This four piece brings you When Angels and Serpents Dance, which means the return of former guitarist Marcos Curiel.
Payable On Death has not released a full length album in over two years, the last one being Testify (if you do not count their greatest hits album).
"After four years, Marcos is back in the band, and we've got new music," said Vocalist Sonny Sandoval about their material on When Angels and Serpents Dance. "When the four of us are in a room making music, it's definitely right, and Marcos brings that passion for music into the band."
The new music from P.O.D. is just that. It is different than Southtown, or Testify but definitely P.O.D.
Their mixture of genres, including punk, rock, and reggae are all present as they have been on past records.
Sandoval also commented on the feel of the album, saying, "As far as P.O.D. goes, it's always for the moment. I just kind of go through it and whatever the song brings out in us, that's it. There's a lot of passion on this record."
The album will feature the hit single "Addicted," and the album's title track, which can be heard on Payable On Death's Web site, www.payableondeath.com.
The Web site also features the band's touring schedule and a detailed biography of the band. It also includes a complete discography from Snuff The Punk to Fundamental Elements of Southtown to the latest release of When Angels and Serpents Dance.
When Angels and Serpents Dance is available on the band's Web site for $7.
