Purpose. It is the thing people have been asking about since they were created. Why do I exist? What is my purpose?

Many people have speculated that it is to take care of the Earth that we have been given. Others say we are to win souls for Jesus. For many, surviving until Jesus returns is the extent to which they live.

All of these are right but are only partial pieces of our purpose.
For this reason, anything that we do for the glory of God is our purpose.

We are put on this Earth for the sole purpose of having our lives reflect back to the Father.

Whether it is singing in church, or it is cleaning up the pews after the service. Whatever you do for the glory of God, you are fulfilling your purpose.

Paul says, "Now it is God who has made us for this very purpose and has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come" (2 Corinthians 5:5).

What he was referring to was Heaven. Our purpose is to return to Heaven, or to return to the Father.

Isaiah 43:7 says, "Everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made."

So this is a call to not only the saved but to the lost also, because the only way to the Father is through Christ. So the first step of fulfilling purpose is though faith in Christ.

The next time you wonder what your purpose is, think about what you enjoy doing, your hobbies and your talents, and try to put it in the context of worship and giving glory to God.

Romans 12:1 says, "Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God-this is your spiritual act of worship."

Using your time for His glory, that's our purpose.
