The North Greenville club baseball team has an overall record of 5-6 and they are first in their conference, 2-0.
Nationally ranked at 24th, The NGU Club baseball team had 10 games rained out this season and all of them were conference games.
The first four games they played were against New River Community College, where they split four games 2-2.
They lost their next two games, which were against Appalachian State. They beat Furman in the first game of a two game series. The second game was called in the fourth inning because of rain, ending in a loss. Defensively, the Crusader's club baseball team is solid, pitching a combined 75 strikeouts in 70 innings with four of their top pitchers, Trevor Greer, Zac Templeton, Corey Gardner, and Daniel Fowler.
Gardner and Greer both have had two complete games each.
As far as it goes on offense, they are doing pretty good in those categories as well.
The Crusaders have a team batting average of .315.
Their top five batters are Matthew Trotter hitting .429, Greer and Templeton are tied with a batting average of 364, Ben Williamson is hitting .355 and Chris Comstock has an average of .600. However, Comstock has only played in five games. (There is one person on their team who has a higher batting average than everybody just mentioned but he has only played in 5 games which is Chris Comstock who is hitting an amazing .600.)
Trotter and Williamson are tied with the most RBIs on the team with 12. Sparky, who leads for the Crusaders, has an on base percentage of .587.
Even though this is the Crusaders first club baseball team, they are doing exceptional because they are first in their conference.
The Crusaders beat Duke's club baseball team 15-5 last week, which was called in 5 innings.
The Crusaders head on the road to finish a 5 game series against the Blue Devils.
If the Crusaders can wind up 1st in their conference at the end of the regular season, they will get a trip to the Club Baseball World Series, which is played in Indiana in May.
