Last Friday, the North Greenville University softball team traveled to Limestone College for a doubleheader. The teams split the games with scores of 4-2, Limestone College, and 0-3, North Greenville.
In the first game, the Crusaders were first to score in the top of the third inning. Christina Shin, sophomore business, hit a sacrifice fly that allowed Shealy Broome, sophomore health and wellness, to score. Limestone answered back in the bottom of the third, but the Crusaders scored again in the top of fifth. Lindsey Eargle, junior sport management, hit an RBI single to drive in Bridget Watson, junior business. Limestone came back and held on to win 4-2.
In the second game, both teams went scoreless until the top of the sixth inning. Eargle hit an RBI double, and Allison Bailey, sophomore undecided, hit a two-run shot to make the score 3-0. The Crusaders' Krista Yeoman, senior marketing, threw a complete game shutout, giving up only two hits while striking out five.
The game against Coker that was originally scheduled for April 5 has been postponed, and the game scheduled for April 7 against Newberry has been cancelled.
Tomorrow, the Crusaders will travel to Brevard for a doubleheader, starting at 2 p.m. On April 12, North Greenville takes on USC-Aiken at 1 p.m. at home.
